English for Speakers of Other Languages

ESOL services are available at all Orange County schools. The objective of this program is to develop English language proficiency in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Our goal is to develop language and proficiency while ensuring that all students reach their full academic potential. Lessons are planned incorporating the ESOL benchmarks as well as grade level Languages Arts state standards and district benchmarks.

Lake Como's ESOL program consists of approximately 30 students who have entered school with various levels of English proficiency. Native languages include Spanish, Haitian Creole, French, Dutch, Arabic, Vietnamese, and Albanian.
